Any kind of oil derived from non-animal based sources can be referred to as vegan oil. They are derived from oilseeds: nuts, legumes, canola (rapeseed), coconut, olive, grape seed, walnut, pecan, mustard seed, peanut, sunflower, sesame, etc.
Non-vegan oils are derived from animals: fish, crustaceans, animal products, tallow, bacon fat, butter, fish, whale, chicken fat, beeswax, etc. What makes an oil vegan? The answer lies in its sources; if the oil is made out of only plant sources and minerals, then we can safely call it vegan.
Is Olive Oil Vegan?

So we can safely say that there are many natural sources of vegan oil, which supplement the vegan diet in that they provide nutrients that are generally lacking in them. It is possible to live a well-nourished vegan life, and an animal-based diet is not today necessary to obtain all the necessary nutrients.
